For over seventy years, we at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church have been sharing the love of Christ through our serving, outreach, and worship. It started back on September 7, 1947, with an invitation in the Deland Sun News. 31 people gathered together and decided there was a need for a Lutheran church in Deland. We are a faithful, friendly congregation in the heart of Historic Deland, Florida and within walking distance of DeLand High School and Stetson University at 509 E. Pennsylvania Avenue. A parsonage was built for the Pastor to live in for the cost of $16,000.00 in 1953. The church was built in 1955 with a price tag of $50,000.00. Also bought and installed was the pipe organ for another $8,600.00 in 1956. We are always seeking new ways to bring the "Good News" of salvation to our entire community. We have a history of tradition while willing to diversify our worship style. We welcome all people who wish to know the Lord and would like to be a part of our Christian family.
